Sadness deep & oceanic

Ebb & flow for weeks

Dark waters & cold

But calm within the deep

Not churned by surface

Nor depth charges

Yet.

Reflecting on so many disasters & grievous evils:

My heart aches for all the pain, the struggle, the toil, the agony strain

That the living earth must sustain

Not by own choice

Except love for life

Which will go on

I lift my heart & declare my stance

I am not choosing this by chance

Life, Love, Shining my little light as brightly as I can -

I will choose to love & be me,

Doing the best I can where I am,

Embracing the pains

To absorb, ground, & heal them

As a woman, alive,

Not more nor less.

Let the evil, the hatred, the fears, distress

Stand down.

I will not.

I will love!
